Coming up for air – part three

Coming up for air – part three

Bette was still sitting by the pool. The morning had turned into afternoon. Kit had left for work a couple of hours earlier with a promise of returning the next day. She never did answer Bette’s question. She mumbled something about not really knowing what Tina was up to these days. That too many rumors were going around WeHo as it was. Bette knew Kit was lying or at least bending the truth… probably to protect her. Bette didn’t know which was worse: knowing or not knowing whom Tina was with.

She went inside the house feeling the need for something. As she was in habit of, she stopped in front of the wine rack and let her fingers run over the bottles of tempting liquid. Lost in thoughts Bette just stood there feeling sick over how far she had fallen. Biting into her already wounded lip she decided to do something else for a change. She turned for the bedroom and put on her running gear.

She had always been a natural runner, strong but light, and oddly enough she still was. Even though it had been weeks since her last jog, she felt like flying, the sun kissing her sweaty skin as she sped up to cross through the park. The end of her story flashed trough Bette’s mind: images of water running down Tina’s silky skin, her mouth slightly agape in pleasure, her nails digging into Bette’s shoulders, her hazel eyes turning darker in arousal. Bette was loosing her breath in more ways than one.

Bette took a break by the water fountain near the playground. She stretched and watched the families who, at least on the surface, were happily enjoying their Saturday in the park. Bette couldn’t help wondering if Tina and her would have been one of those families relaxing in the sun, had they not lost their son on that terrible day not even a year ago. If only he had continued to thrive, if only she hadn’t been late to the doctor’s office, if only she never met Candace, if only she had been stronger, listened harder, paid more attention. If only she’d gone with the girls on the cruise, if only she hadn’t doubted her love for Tina. Bette’s days were filled with ‘if onlys’ and ‘what ifs’.

    1. well just read all 3 chapters… now i hope bette can come up with a plan to win tina back… i am trusting you with my tibette heart… please continue

    2. Thanks to Alice and Shane for encouraging Bette join the world of friends again. Between Kit and the girls the old Bette may rise and strike fear in Henry’s heart, because Tina’s heart belongs to Bette.

    3. Really liking your story, thanks for not putting the ??? after the TBC :). Seems like Tina moved on pretty fast. Since none of the girls have seen her new place, maybe they’re wrong and she didn’t move-in with Henry *fingers crossed*. Thanks for the update, please post soon.
