Masked Feelings CH 60 The Unknown is the Scariest

They relaxed into each others arms. Dana pulled the blanket off the back of the couch to cover themselves. Alice nestled into Dana’s neck. Her soft breath felt warm against her skin. Dana felt so at peace holding Alice in her arms. They laid there for a few minutes before Dana broke the silence.
Dana – I love you, Alice.
Dana – Alice?… Alice, did you hear me?
Dana sighs deeply, figuring she’d fallen asleep. She kisses the top of her head and lays there holding her close.
Alice was awake. She heard Dana profess her love, but she also heard the question. Dana needed validation….. wanting her to say the words back. Alice was afraid to say anything. She didn’t regret one moment of what happened here, that wasn’t the problem. Alice wasn’t sure how she was supposed to react. Dana said she wanted to date her, but she didn’t exactly say she wanted to get back together with her. How could she afford to put herself in that vulnerable position again by expressing how she felt? Nothing was going to be settled until they could have a nice long talk. One of the most unsettling conversations would involve discussing Lara and Roxy.
Roxy invited an old ex to come with her to the party. They would occasionally go out together, but keeping it strictly on a friends only basis.
Andrea – What are your plans? For Alice, I mean.
Roxy – I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Andrea – Have you forgotten who you’re talking to? I know you, Roxy.
Roxy – I’m telling you the truth, Andrea. I’m not planning anything.
Andrea – But I saw the way you looked at her when you were sitting at the bar. You’re in love with her, aren’t you?
Roxy – So what if I am.
Andrea – I can’t believe you’re not going for it…. is she not interested in you?
Roxy – We slept together once…. would’ve been twice if I hadn’t have stopped it the first time.
Andrea – Now that’s the Roxy I know and love…. well, except for the stopping part.
Roxy – Yeah well I’m glad I waited.
Andrea – So what’s the problem? Does she have a girlfriend?

Yes you can do another year! You never disappoint. Thanks for the update. It’s interesting that it feels like the tables have been turned on Dana. She was in the driver’s seat, not Alice is cutting her off, not texting her back, etc… I understand why Alice is afraid to make herself vulnerable to Dana again. Dana’s thoughts make it seem like she wants to be with Alice, as do some of her actions, but she recently slept with Allie too. Yeah – I still remember that! lol Dana was right. It does feel like dark forces are attempting to pull Alice and Dana apart. I wonder who kissed Dana. Of course my first instinct says it’s Lara, but that feels too easy. Could it have been Allie, or is that giving her too much credit? Tonya? She hasn’t been in this story, so maybe not. I guess I’ll just have to keep reading to find out!
ahhhh SOOOO AWESOME! i just loved it! BUt of course with the love comes the not so much love … Andrea?. ::growls : i’m getting mixed feelings here on why Alice is acting the way that she is other then i know she doesn’t want to fall and get hurt again but isn’t this what she wanted? to hear Dana say those words to be held again etc? i’m of course as you know dying to know what Alice is thinking ! oh and about the random kiss from the stranger i know who it was… oh my goooooooodd Lara, Lara Laraaaaaaaaaaa! lol or.. it could of been this Allison sucker? maybe? but then again doubtful for some reason i want to say tonya or maybe its the infamous “Ralph” Dana’s first hook up the famous one? lol ok was that to much out the window? i apologize lol “Andrea – I know, darlin…. just don’t give up”. ok i gotta hand it to you i thought roxy was the worst of the worst which she is… but darn it Roxy has a mini me and her name is andrea! lol she needs to shut up! More worry what did Alice mean by “she needed to get on with her life” i hoping she went WITH Dana in it. Hmm is it wrong that i might like David more then Roxy? lol just kidding David is NUTS! but then again so was – rather IS Lara. this is Crazy goood! so many things are jumping into my head one of which is a good laugh that being… David IS Lara and Lara is David! dun dun dun again doubtful but hey ‘im just running with ideas here! lol sry if this comment was just all over the place but i was so excited when i saw that you posted i hope you know that your story is in my fav top! and yes you landed on the number 1 spot! fav story of all time! even tho Roxy really ruins some moments but maybe ur right perhaps somewhere… far,far away i kind of like her? lol nahhh Well i cant wait for the next chap! forget brilliant i take it back i’d say GENIUS, just genius! x0x0x0 keep it up! oh and by the way when you said “I’m not sure you’ll get the chance to really know Allie, because she might be making her exit soon” I read it too quick that I thought you said ALICE I almost fainted lol :P
Another year and I feel like things are changing, and not in good way Danish wise. But I’ll keep hope on that front. The kissing stranger..mmm it’s Lara right or Allie maybe?? And I really hope the long awaited talk is good and honest, that’s the only way back to recovery…and Alice needs to let Dana know she loves her, it kind of feels like tho roles ar turning I said that already. Anyway, great chapter my friend. And the waiting by my computer was worth it. I’ll still be here next week! Thanks..
This just keeps getting better and better. And hopefully that will lead to a really awesome ending with happy danish… right? Please? Ok, well I loved it and I can’t wait for the next one.
My award isn’t that longlasting…well enjoy it as long as you can. :P Uh oh…Forceful Dana doesn’t handle rejecting that well. I hope the talk will clear things up. But I’m pretty sure it doesn’t…especially with Kirsten staying over at Dana’s house. I do understand why Alice is acting like she is. But yeah, the frustration is coming back again. And who was that person kissing Dana? At first I thought it was Andrea, but it clearly wasn’t her. The next persons I think of are Lara and Allie (in that order). And David…he really is sick. Who will be his next victim? Will Tony and the mob make a guest appaerance soon too? And that clock…it is still over at Dana’s house right? Will it play an role too in the upcoming chapters? I have this feeling you need to warn me for the next couple of chapters (as it being graphical/scary).
It’s funny. It is almost 3am & I knew, as tired as I am, that tonight would be the night you would update … because all I wanted to do is curl up & go to sleep. But no, that didn’t happen … I had to read this update before I went to bed. You’re forgiven for this chapter not being filled with hot, steamy, smutty sex … but just don’t make a habit of it. If you’re looking to know what makes me tick … sex is a pretty good damn start … definitely one of my favorite subjects … it’s endlessly fascinating. I still believe that you’re a dirty tease and I’m ok with that … it keeps things interesting. I see that you’ve gone back to your twisted & sadistic ways, bringing David back into the story … wondering if he’s going after Roxy now. Plus you seem to have made Alice even more conflicted than before, while making Dana all the more receptive to keeping Alice in her life & creating a future. Damn you thrive on conflict!!! And yes, chapters 48 & 49 are in fact combined the hottest sex scene I have ever read before & I cannot begin to tell you how much fanfic I have read over the years. Please by all means … try to out do yourself … I double dog dare you!!! As for another bit of info about me … I’m a huge Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan!
YEAH!!! That’s what I call suspense at the end! You’re really sure you don’t like Bloody Mary’s at all? lol The end was full of blood. Ooohhhh, the poor car gets dirty. I’m sure, David won’t clean this one up, lol. You understand pretty good how to combine a mix of all the opposite emotions and feelings that are in your story. The first passage I read makes me laugh the other makes me cry and scream and sometimes when I think you can’t top that you surprise me with a new twist. That’s what I love you for!! It’s getting more captivating each time I’m reading one of your new installments. You’re the BEST!!! You should think about writing professionally:-) I would buy each of your books! I loved the way Alice talked to Dana and I’m pretty sure she had a great and rational reason not saying “I love you” to Dana. They definitely need to have a serious talk. Both of them made big mistakes. Dana slept with Allie and this one won’t be too easy to explain though she’s actually dating Alice again and Al has to work with Roxy to find out what happened to Lara. Is she dead or not? You made it totally clear that she’s alive unless it was Tonya kissing Dana, lol. I just ask myself how Dana couldn’t recognize in that moment that it was Lara kissing her. She just had three girlfriend’s in total, lol. So, she’s not only a goofball but she also has a bad memory, lol. If she finds out it was Lara kissing her she flips and brushes her teeth a whole week, lol. Roxy seems more mature and even nice in this chapter. For the first time I felt really sorry for her. It’s like a rollercoaster with her. At the very beginning I loved her for being such a great friend but after the betrayal I thought she’s not that good as I thought before. By now it’s quite obvious that everybody’s making stupid mistakes when love is in the way. Therefore, I forgive you, Roxy:-) She’s a mysterious girl but you certainly tell us soon what happened in her past and why she behaves like this and why she’s such a lone wolf. Why doesn’t she trust people? I’m anxious to find it out:-))) Well, Andrea seems to be very dangerous. I hope she won’t do any harm to our lovely girls. But as far as I know you by now you’ll let her torture someone pretty bad, lol. So, maybe Roxy comes to the rescue then. Make a little hero of her:-) Please, please, I beg you, lol. At least the killer scene. Amazing how you characterize David, our little psycho-boy, lol. When he finds out Lara’s still out there he’ll regret killing that nice neighbor. Maybe only for a second, lol. Indeed, I was a little shoked by this and how inscrutable this was. However, I’m glad you didn’t kill one of the protagonists:-))) Nevertheless you’re an ingenius tease, lol. Hope to read the next chapter as soon as possible. Love your work!!! Wow what a wake up call…that was one kick ass chapter!! Even though Dana has professed her love, i dont blame Alice for keeping her emotions in check just now.Its a form of self protection and they are still not fully communicating yet… maybe because they havent talked hint,hint lol. Hmm seems like Roxy has recruited a new partner in crime with Andrea? The “maybe you should work for Hallmark” really cracked me up, and im sure that they are going to cause havoc! The mystery kisser/starer gave ME the shivers never mind Alice lol.Im very intrigued as to who it could be? It will be interesting to see how Dana reacts when Kristen and Alice meet again. Whoh, gasps and gulps… we have a new killer! David killing Mrs Lewis was truly ferocious and gruesome…is it safe to come out yet? lol. Youve upped the angst brteyes and im loving it. Dont leave it too long, thanks.

you weren’t kidding! you really did kill someone off. dang woman!!! i must remember not to get on your bad side. good stuff! ok, but on the serious side of things. i am growing a little concerned over alice’s behavior toward dana. she better watch it or else dana is gonna get the wrong idea and pull away again, and for good this time. poor sweet dana. :) and now this david fellow. is he gonna end up being a new and improved norman bates? all this time i thought he saved lara. but did he really just take her dead body for safe keeping? does he have her laying in a nice bed in his apartment? this story gets creepier by the chapter. anyway… great post! and just so you know i am still anti roxy!!!!!
Another great chapter babe, its cool to see David back, what a freak. All the mystery I love it! Who is the mystery make out partner and when will Alice tell Dana. I like that Alice isn’t fawning over Dana but I wonder what’s wrong, if Alice keeps acting so cold she’s going to lose Dana. I can’t wait to see what they’re going to do when Kristen moves in, she’s so against Alice and while Dana has been really good about changing the subject but when you’re hanging out with someone it’s hard to find things to say that don’t involve them, so I wonder if Kristen is going to pick up on that. I wonder if Dana’s going to put together the disappearance of Lara’s body with all of the weird things going on. I can’t wait till your next installment, love you babe. PS
This latest chapter added a new twist to upcoming talk. One step forward for Dana in admitting her feelings for Alice and one or two steps back for Alice. The last time Alice didn’t trust Dana and started having doubts, she turned to Roxy, maybe Andrea won’t have to work too hard to give Roxy a chance. Alice almost seems to have a self-destructive streak when it comes to her relationship with Dana right now. Hopefully Alice will get a chance to think about what she really wants, to take the easy path and move on with her life without Dana or take the risk on relationship that needs to rebuild the trust between them to be with Dana.
well well. this story has certainly come a long way from when it first began. it’s pretty amazing i must say. look at all your comments and loyal fans, leaving you huge paragraphs to read. i hope that makes you feel loved and confident about your writing when you feel like you’re about to disappoint or you just cant think of the next thing. you always do, and if you didnt we wouldn’t come back. this writing is a great part of you and i think it shows a side i dont get to see very often. you’re pretty much amazing. lol but yeah, anyway, the last two updates were quite good, i think i understand why alice is pulling back so much. it’s scary and uncertain..but i hope she doenst keep dana waiting too long. btw, i know that lara is alive..she has to be. the way things are turning out, with david coming into the picture..i have a feeling they’re going to team up and get alice and dana, for the last time. and why do i feel like roxy is going to save them…or have something to do with saving them..and maybe dana will forgive her one day..even though i dont like her its funny to think of the time when roxy was the only one that dana could talk to and trust. gosh things have become so complex over this year. i think you and i both know this. i just want you to know that even though it may take my forever, i always read your updates and i always love them, and i may not always comment but i am always thinking of you. I love you darling. I can’t wait to read what happens next and i hope that its something exciting…as always.
