    One Way Street/ She Takes Me There : Chapter One




    It was late in the afternoon when Tina received a call from her brother, James, informing her of the good news. He has just gotten engaged. Tina was more than ecstatic when she heard it, she never thought there would be a woman out there who could ever get him to settle down. So, she was very eager to meet this woman, Bette Porter.

    “Congratulations, bro. She must be some woman to get you to pop the question, huh?” asked Tina.

    “Yes, she is. She’s intelligent, with great sense of humor, and her eyes are the most beautiful eyes that I have ever seen. I love her!” James proudly declared.

    “So, when are you going to introduce her to me? You’re not afraid that your little sis, right?” Tina asked jokingly.

    “Ha..ha..ha… lil’ sis, you have nothing on me. Bette is so far out of your league, because she’s so, so…. straight,” said James.

    “Most girls are until they get a load of the Kennard’s charm. I don’t even have to say a word, just flash my 1000 watts smile guarantee 100 percent ivory, and it’s a done deal, ***** or straight.”

    “Yeah, yeah. Anyway, you’re still coming to L.A. for Christmas, right?” asked James.

    “Yes, I will be there, or else, mother says she’ll disown me.” Tina laughed.

    “Good. Then I’ll wait until then to tell mom. I want to surprise her.” said James.

    “Okay. I’ll see you in a week.” said Tina.

    “All right. I love you, sis.” said James.

    “I love you, too.” said Tina.

     

    It was Friday, the day before Christmas’ eve, Tina is flying in from Vancouver to L.A. Before going to see her family, Tina rented a car, and went to visit with one of her oldest friends, Dana, who’s the co-owner of West Hollywood’s most popular hang out, The Planet.

    Tina at the front door, “Surprise Dane! Guess what Santa dropped at your front door?” as she rings the doorbell.

    Dana at her window looks to see who it was, “Tina! Oh my God! What are you doing here?” she screeched.

    “Are you going to let me in, Dane?” Tina laughed.
