Dana had always had special feelings for her best friend, Alice. But it hadn’t been til recently that those feelings started to re-surface. Now that she had started to spend more time with Alice since her split with Lara, she started to see her in a whole new light. How could she even think of jeopardizing the special bond that they already shared- “best friends.” Alice had just started to date again, granted it wasn’t serious but Dana knew that it could very well happen. Her new girlfriend, Gina was a knockout to say the least. She seemed nice enough, but Dana was having a difficult time wanting to get to know her since she was jealous of the woman that got to kiss Alice’s sweet lips. Dana was about to wrap up her trip in New York. Dealing with sponsors was a part she didn’t much care for but they were promoting her tennis career, so a few commercials were expected. With a little bit of luck, she might just make it back for the Halloween party at the Planet. Day before halloween Bette and Tina were relaxing in bed with Angelica sleeping between them. They know that soon, it would be off to work for the both of them. Times like this were precious and few. The phone rings. Bette- “It’s Shane, she wants to know if we can meet at the Planet for coffee. Tina- “Sure, sounds good. Bette- ” Give us a half hour, Shane.” At the Planet Shane- “Bette and Tina are coming.” Carmen- “I called Alice, but she must have her cell phone turned off. I’ll try again in a few minutes.” A couple minutes later Alices comes in with Gina. Shane- “Hey, guys! Over here.” Carmen- “I tried to call you, but no answer.” Alice- “Yeah, didn’t want to be disturbed, you know.” Carmen- “Something we should know?” Alice- “I’ll just leave it to your imaginations.” Alice laughs. Bette and Tina enter. Shane- “Hey, where’s our Angel?” Tina- “Had to drop her off at the babysitters. We both have really busy days at work today, so we can’t stay long.” Shane- “Well I guess we better discuss the Halloween party now then. They talked over the details of the party. Bette and Tina say their good-byes and leave for work. Gina- “Hey, Alice, I have to get going or I’ll be late.” Alice gives her a soft lingering kiss. Alice- ” I’ll call you later, maybe we can have dinner at my place tonight.” Gina- “Sounds great, looking forward to it.” Gina leaves and Shane approaches. Alice- “Hey, have you heard from Dana?” Shane- ” I called her last night. She doesn’t think she’ll be back in time for the party.” Alice frowns. Alice- “Damn it! Dana loves Halloween. I hate to see her miss it.” Shane- ” I’m sure she would be here if she could. Well, Al, I have to go. Carmen needs a ride to work. Talk to you later.” Alice- “Yeah, later.” Alice was visibly disappointed. Dana made Halloween fun. They always spent every Halloween together for as long as she could remember. Doing the usual goofy stuff- playing pranks and trying to scare each other. Best of all, seeing what each other would come up with for their costumes. Dana had booked her flight this morning, but of course it was the red eye. She was packed and ready, none the less. She told Shane she couldn’t make it back but that was before the last appointment was canceled. Oh well, at least this way she could be back in time for the party and she could surprise Alice. Al loved Halloween as much as she did, but the best part was the fun times they had together.
