Five Times Bella Swan Died and One Time She Didn't

    1st Time

    Unleashing the Monster

He hated her. Despised every inch of her mind and body for what she was about to make him do. She had awakened the beast he had managed to keep under control for so long and he was helpless to stop it. The drive was undeniable. The monster thirsted beyond Edward's ability to stop it. Bella Swan number was up. No blood had ever smelt so sweet to him, and she would pay a dear price for that. How he had managed to sit through an hour of biology with her in such close proximity was unfathomable. He’d, on several occasions, nearly snapped the neck of every person in that room just so he could sink his teeth in her breakable skin.

It was almost commendable that he’d lasted long enough that she was the only person who would have to die today.

Edward waited for her to come out, searching through the sea of superficial thoughts for hers. Of course it evaded him. It had evaded him since he first spotted her in the cafeteria that afternoon. But it didn't matter anymore if he could hear her thoughts or not. They'd be silenced soon enough.

“Edward,” a voice to the side of him whispered low enough so that only he could hear.

“Go away, Alice,” he growled, matching her quiet volume.

    “She’s the Chief’s daughter. He’ll be devastated.”

As if that thought could curb the monster inside of him. In its own sick way, it only egged the demon on. Edward wanted to swear at her to leave, but a fight with Alice was exactly what she wanted. Enough time to distract him from his goals and maybe stop this murder before it took place. The monster wouldn’t fall for it though. As Alice’s thoughts assaulted him to sway him from this path, he steadfastly ignored her.

She showed him the future of his action, but not even they could make him second guess himself. Seeing Bella Swan covered in her own blood only made the fiend in him roar with delight. Edward was decided on this. The monster was in control. After a time of no response from him, Alice finally gave up and joined the other Cullens by his Volvo. They were stuck here until he was finished.
