Spencer’s pov

After Ashley left I went back inside and finished getting ready for my first day back at school. It wasn’t long before I was out the door and in my first class. I planned on burying myself in school work for this week to take my mind off Ashley. I was one of the first student in the class, so I sat and stared at my ring. My thoughts kept going back to the night before when Ashley proposed. It was an amazing night. I’ll never forget it as long as I live. I felt a hand on my shoulder and it pulled me away from my thoughts. I looked up to see who the hand belonged to. It was my old roommate Clover. I smiled at her as she took the seat beside me.

Clo: “Long time no see.”
Spe: “Hey! How have you been?”
Clo: “I’ve been good. Nothing out of the usual. Except I upgraded from a dorm to an on campus apartment.”
Spe: “Awesome. I’ll have to stop by sometime and take a look.”
Clo: “You can stop by any time you want… Oh my god. Spencer! Why didn’t you tell me?”
Spe: “Tell you what?”

Her sudden outburst confused me. She reached for my hand and pointed to the ring Ashley put on me. I didn’t think people ever paid attention to things like that.

Clo: “That Contessa got a ring on you.”
Spe: “What!? Contessa? Oh, no no no!”
Clo: “I’m confused. Last time I checked the two of you were together.”
Spe: “No, we most definitely aren’t together.”
Clo: “Well, then who’s the lucky lady?”
Spe: “Ashley. The girl I spent all my time moping around over.”
Clo: “So when did you get back together?”
Spe: “Right after summer started.”
Clo: “I wonder why Contessa never mentioned the break up.”
Spe: “To be honest she and I haven’t been broken up for very long.”
Clo: “What?”

I filled her in on EVERYTHING except for the fact that I was now engaged to rock star Ashley Davies.

Clo: “Wow. That’s a lot to take in.”

Before our conversation could go any further the professor entered the room and began teaching class.

After what seemed like hours class was finally over. Clover and I walked out into the hallway together and she turned and smiled at me.
