My Hero – (Chapter: -the shooting)

The girls and their parents walk out of the movie theatre downtown, their parents are ahead of them talking to each other happily. The girls far behind them walk arms linked together happily, laughing and joking. A man appears from the shadows of the alley and stands in front of them, their parents pause. Time almost stands still as the man raises his right hand showing its contents, a small revolver. He pulls the trigger and fires four shots, their parents fall to the ground. The girls hearing the noise rush ahead of them, the gunman sees the girls and shots fast twice…..Ashley screams, noooo and throws herself onto Spencer knocking both girls to the ground. Then the gunman heard voices getting closer freaked and ran away. Spencer leaned up with Ashley still in her lap, then she noticed something wet on her stomach. Oh God she had been shot, no wait…Oh God! The blood was coming from Ashley’s chest, her hand was covered with her friends blood. She looked down at her best friend with shear fear in her eyes.

    “HELP…Somebody help us..HELP…HELP HELP!”

It was then that she saw their parents laying there lifeless in pools of blood, they were already gone. Tears poured from her eyes as she held her friends head in her lap.

“Spencer…”, Ashley murmured. Spencer looked down at her friend sadly.

“Hold on Ash…Oh God please don’t leave me. Look at me, don’t close your eyes, please just hold on.”, Spencer said caressing her friend cheek softly with one hand and holding her other hand firmly on the bleeding wound on Ashley’s chest.

    “HELP HELP!!!!!!!!”, Spencer yelled.

A young man in his early twenties ran up to them, “The ambulance is on its way..”, he said leaning over them.

“You hear that Babe, helps on its way…just hold on, they’re coming.”, Spencer looked down and saw that her friends eyes were closed and a scream escaped her lips. “Oh No, Ash! Honey, please open your eyes…oh God please.” Ashley eyes remained closed and tears poured from her eyes onto her friends body. “NOOOOOO…”, she screamed into the night.

A hand on my shoulder snapped me out of the trance I was in. An older woman looked over at me with sad grey eyes, her sweet wrinkled cheeks were soaked with tears as she spoke, “Its time to go dear. No need to stand out here in the rain.” Raindrops started to fail down lightly beginning to soak my hair and cheeks, my teardrops blending with them almost hiding them. However, there was no use, hiding was not an option you could she the pain and overwhelming sadness in my eyes, my light ocean blue eyes…
