Ashley sat outside by the pool just enjoying the air when her phone started vibrating beside her on the table. She picked it up looking at the caller I.D. it read Heather

Ashley: “Shit, I totally forgot all about her.” Ashley hit accept. “Hey what’s up?”

Heather: “Well since you didn’t call me back last night or today I thought I would call you and see how your friend was but since you sound so cheery I take a guess that she’s perfectly fine.” She had a slightly annoyed tone.

Ashley: “Umm yeah she fine, she was just having an allergic reaction to peanuts.” Ashley said smiling at the thought of Spencer. 

Heather: “So since your friend is fine why don’t we try for another date?”

Ashley: “About that I think I’m going to have to pass.”

Heather: “Well that okay I understand if you have things to do what about another night?” Heather’ voice had lost the cheeriness it held earlier.

Ashley: “I’m going to have to pass on all future dates.”

Heather: “What? Why? Was our date that bad? I mean did I talk to much or something? Was my outfit not cute enough?”

Ashley: “No, no, it’s none of those things it’s just, well you remember the story of why I left right? Well that friend I was talking about is the one who got sick last night and the whole reason she got sick is because of me. She’s not ready to see me with someone else just yet so I told her I would take her feelings into account and not date right now. That’s why we can’t go out on a date.”

Heather: “Wait she can’t expect you to put your life on hold all because she’s having problems deciding if she’s ready to be with you or not that’s just not right. If she was any kind of friend she would just want you to be happy, whether that with her or not.”

Ashley: “I know. Everything that your saying is true but I still love her and I’m not going to let a girl get in the way of our friendship. So we can still be friends but other than that, not right now.” Ashley finished leaving her offer for Heather.
