Chapter Fourteen

Spencer’s Story

     Here I am, back in Ohio where my home is. I would say it feels great to be home, but really it doesn’t feel that way. My heart is somewhere else and I feel like it was left behind. a lot of things are left behind. So many memories, the friends I made, and more importantly, Ashley.

     But I am glad to see my family and friends again. I have missed them since I’ve been gone. I missed my mom, my dad, Clay, my best friend, and even asshole Glen. I can’t wait to see them.

     As my cab pulled up my long gravel driveway, I saw my family standing outside on the porch. I smiled big and unbuckled my seat belt as the car came to a stop.

     "Spencer!" My mom shouted with joy. She embraced me in a loving hug the moment I stepped out of the cab.

     "Hunny, I’ve missed you!" She said still holding me tight.

     "Hi mom," I said with a chuckle, "I missed you too."

     "Boys, grab your sisters bags." My dad said, and they did as they were told. My dad wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

     "Welcome home sweetie." He said kissing the top of my head. I smiled and we walked into the house. It feels different in a way, seems smaller. But I guess that’s just because I’m use to being in Ashley’s mansion of a home. Gosh, I just got her and I can’t get my mind off of her.

     "So Spencer, how was your summer staying with Marty?" My father asked. Well lets see dad, it was amazing! The best one yet. I met so many amazing people who become my good friends and I met someone who I’m actually in love with. Her name’s Ashley, Ashley Davis. Yeah mom, dad, I’m gay… Right, like it would be that easy for me to tell them.

     "Um, well it was really good dad," I said instead. "I had a lot of fun and met some really good people who I became good friends with." I said proudly.

     "Well that’s great!" My mom chimed, "How about you go unpack and we will call you down when dinner’s ready, and you can tell us all about your summer." She said smiling. All about it?
