    My Best Friend’s Girlfriend

Ashley lied down on the hospital bed facing Spencer.  “I really, really missed you while you were in your coma, babe,” Ashley began with a smile.  “I knew that you couldn’t be gone.  I had hope for you when no one else did.”

“I missed you, too while I was away,” agreed Spencer.  “I missed you so much.”  Spencer pointed to her nose.  Ashley smiled and leaned in to kiss Spencer’s nose.  She pointed to her lips for Spencer to kiss.  Spencer leaned in to kiss Ashley sweetly on the lips.  She bit down on Ashley’s bottom lip.  Ashley cupped Spencer’s face and tangled her fingers in Spencer’s hair.  Spencer pulled back from the kiss.

“I got something for you,” Ashley stated.  Ashley took the teddy bear from the table.  “Do you still like stuffed animals?”

“No, I still love them,” responded Spencer with a smile.  “Thank you so much, Ash.”  Spencer pressed her lips against Ashley.  Ashley pulled back from the kiss with a smile.

“No problem,” Ashley said.  “So what are you going to name her?”

“It can’t be a he?” asked Spencer with curiosity.

“It can be an it for now,” Ashley pointed out amused.

“I’m not good with giving names to my stuffed animals,” stated Spencer.

“Alright, so we’ll name her Teddy for now until you decide a name,” Ashley stated.  “How does that sound?”

“It’s an unoriginal name,” whined Spencer.

“Do you have any better names, missy?” Ashley asked with curiosity. “If you do, I’ll love to hear the names.”

“I’m afraid I don’t,” answered Spencer simply.  “So Teddy it is then.”

“As long as Teddy is around she’ll be your good luck charm,” Ashley explained.

“You are my good look charm,” pointed out Spencer with a smile.

“Likewise,” Ashley said.  Ashley caressed Spencer’s face.

A couple of days later, Spencer and Ashley were at King High walking hand-in-hand through the hallway.  “Welcome back to high school, babe,” Ashley said.

“Thanks, it’s good to be back,” replied Spencer with a smile.  “I never thought that I would say that.”  Ashley chuckled.  “I guess there’s a first time for everything.”  Ashley cupped Spencer’s cheek and kissed Spencer softly on her lips.  Spencer smiled and wrapped her arms around Ashley’s neck.  Ashley pulled back from the kiss with a smile.  “Does something in the air feel different at King High?  Maybe it’s just me.”
