That Girl. – (Chapter: A Date.)

I woke up this morning with another headache, but I had some Christmas shopping to do.  As for Ashley, she’d called my phone about one hundred times yesterday.  I’m just not ready to talk.  I feel refreshed today.  I feel like something fantastic is going to happen, but I’m not sure what.  I just feel new.  I feel like maybe I don’t need Ashley.  Maybe I just needed her to screw up to realize that.  Today I’ve got to get presents for Glen, Mom, Dad, my two sets of grandparents, and possibly Ashley.  I mean, I’m sure she’ll get me something.  I just hate it when someone gets me something, and I don’t get them anything.

So, I’m walking through the mall getting my usual glares.  I mean, really?  Get over it.  The pictures had been published in the newspaper from that night.  All they say was, "Carlin leaves Davies again."  Really?  No, she left me.  I just hate how no one knows the story but all the blame is immediately put on me.  Yes, it was my fault at first, but it isn’t now.  I’m in a store right now looking for my Mom’s perfume.

"Can I help you?"  I turn around to see the most beautiful blonde I’ve ever seen.

"Yes.  I’m looking for the biggest bottle of Curve Crush that you have."  I replied.

"Right over here."  She says, and I follow her.

    "Thanks."  I reply.

"No problem."  She smiles, and she walks away.  At least she was nice to me.  Then, I see her walk up to her co-worker.  She whispers, "That’s Spencer Carlin."  Then, I get the death glare from them both.  Damn, I am so tired of this.  So, I buy my Mom’s perfume.  I get my Dad a gift card to his favorite store.  I get my Grandparents a few random things that Grandparents like.  Now, Glen wants that new Rockband game.  So, I head for the CD store to get it.  I walk by a rack with Ashley’s CDs on them.  I pick one up, and I don’t realize it, but I’m soon rubbing my fingers over her face.

"So, you a Davies fan?"  The brunette working the counter ask.

"Something like that, yeah."  I smile.  She doesn’t know who I am.  Yah!
