    Introduction

I edge my way around the office checking each corridor for signs of life as I go. I hear them calling, screaming out my name like the world is going to end if they don’t find me.
That isn’t the case, at least not for them. If I get away their lives will continue as if I never even existed, but if they catch me, hers may not.

Slowly I make my way around the final turn. As the door breaks into my line of vision I scurry forward, raising my leg and landing a sharp kick near the door handle. The swinging object fly’s backward and I scramble in.

The shouts are so close now.

    ASHLEY! WHERE ARE YOU? ASHLEY!

With shaky hands I slam the door shut. Knowing that the lock on the door is now broken I effortlessly push a black leather loveseat in front of it, hoping that the object will buy me some time.

Once the chair is in place I turn and grab the open bin off of the filing cabinet. My breathing is heavy as I climb under the desk with a pen and a tab of paper in hand. I speak aloud as I write.

"If anyone finds this it means my plan didn’t work and I’m already dead."

Their shouts are just beyond the door of the room I’m occupying now. Sudden flashes of lights confirm my suspicions as I focus my attention back on the paper.

"But if I can somehow go back to the beginning of all of this I might be able to save her."

    To be continued….
