I couldn’t tell you what song was playing. The only thing I was paying attention to was how close she was. And whether or not I could get any closer.
My hands found her hips; I lightly touched the hem of her shirt and felt the fast figure eights she was making against me. Her hand ran up my bare arm, coming to rest on my shoulder. Spencer’s head was slightly down – we were no longer laughing, yelling over the music as we were seconds ago. She was getting lost in moving with me. I took a deep breath and allowed myself to follow her.
She slid down slightly in rhythm to the beat and I felt her skirt climb a fraction of an inch higher against my leg. The hand that was resting on my shoulder slid down across the top of my back and with barely any pressure, she pulled my torso closer to her own. I released one side of her, allowing the other to slide around her back, locking her hips into mine. Her free hand that held a cold beer bumped against my free arm; the goosebumps it left caused a gasp from my lips. “Spencer…” I whispered against her.
The hand on my shoulder slid to the back of my neck, ran through my hair, as she pulled my head closer to her. I felt her skin against mine, hot and slick with sweat. I could smell the remains of her perfume; it had evaporated off of her in the three hours we’d been here. I brushed my cheek against hers. She stilled long enough for me to notice, but not long enough for her to lose the beat. I breathed against her neck, felt the small hairs on her skin stand on end. She pulled my head closer to her. We did not touch, but I could feel a bead of sweat roll down her temple. I knew she had closed her eyes.
I brushed my lips against her neck and her hand entwined itself further into my curls. We moved like this, tight but not suffocating. Her shirt was stuck to her and I knew I wasn’t any cleaner. An image of us like this, sans clothing, in a shower flashed across my mind. The hand in my hair returned to my shoulder, down my arm, to my hips. She pulled back and I felt a rush of cool breeze between us. She turned to me, just then opening her eyes. They were dark, needy, wanting.
She turned around, looking for Aiden and Kyla. She was ready to leave. She took a step forward and when I hesitated, she reached behind her, looking for my hand. I gently rested it into her open palm and she pulled me fast, my front melting into her back. I put my hand on her hip. I felt the low, “No” of protest and she laced her fingers through mine and dragged both of our hands across her stomach. This automatically pulled me tighter against her, something that shouldn’t have been possible. When my hand found the other side of her body, the other notch of her hips, she let go, silently asking me never to do the same.
We swayed slowly to the music, forgetting about finding our ride. I could no longer resist. I lightly kissed the back of her neck, and again on her shoulder. She shuddered and I felt her hand on my arm. She turned her head slightly, enough for me to read her lips.
“Take me home, Ashley.”
