    Friday, the day after the dinner at the Carlins…

    All day Ashley was walking around in a daze.  Everyone asked her what was wrong she ignored them, but when they asked where Spencer was she would yell.  Telling them to get back to work instead of wondering where her wife was.  The office was definitely on edge all day.  Lunch time came and went, Ashley hadn’t left the office.  She merely ordered Chinese and had it delivered to the house for Spencer.  The blonde had called a few times.  One at around 7, another at 11:30, and then at 1.  The hurt in Spencer’s voice when she left the last message broke Ashley’s heart.  She wanted to know why she hadn’t come home for lunch like she said she would.  There was no anger like Ashley expected just flat out pain and insecurity. 

     

    By the time Ashley left work, she knew that she had to see Spencer.  Had to talk to her.  But she didn’t want to talk.  She didn’t want to hear it.  It would make it 100% true, and she didn’t know if she could handle that.  So before she got home, she made a quick stop at 7Eleven, and picked up her famous ‘bad day’ essentials (bottle of jack and pack of camels).  She walked through door only to find Spencer sitting on the couch in the living room.  The blonde turned her head and they just gazed at each other for a few moments.  Ashley was the first to break eye contact as she looked down at her feet.  Spencer rose from the couch and walked over to her.  Ashley set her things down on the table by the door and then waited.  She didn’t know what the blonde was going to do; whether she was mad or just hurt. 

     

    Spencer closed the distance between them and pulled Ashley into a firm embrace.  Ashley was a little surprised but relaxed and pulled her tighter to her.  As they pulled away, Spencer put her hands on Ashley neck and just stared at her.  The brunette couldn’t look into those blue eyes, she just stared at Spencer’s necklace.  A Tiffany’s 1837 lock charm on a long skinny chain.  Ashley gave it to her for their one year wedding anniversary.  She told her that she was hers and only hers.  That she was locked away for only her.
